Casa Grande Union High School District Announces Governing Board Members Kelly Herrington, Richard Wilkie, & Carrie Jordan

Casa Grande, AZ – November 14, 2024 – The Casa Grande Union High School District announces the recent election results and welcomes the newly elected Governing Board members, Richard Wilkie and Carrie Jordan, along with the re-election of current board member Kelly Herrington. 

Kelly Herrington, a seasoned member of the Governing Board, will continue her dedicated service with renewed commitment to advancing the district’s mission. Newly elected board members Richard Wilkie and Carrie Jordan bring fresh perspectives and a shared passion for education that will complement our district’s vision and goals. Their involvement will help the district advance its mission of providing a high-quality education that prepares all students for college, career, and beyond.

Boots Hawks
Term Ends 12/31/24
 
Boots Hawks has lived in Casa Grande for over seven years. He is a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Hawks wants to see our students progress at the best pace they can and become great citizens who will support our community.

Steve Hayes
Term Ends 12/31/26 
Steve Hayes has been a resident of Casa Grande since 2019 but grew up in the western suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. Before moving to Arizona, Steve lived in four different states and one Canadian province. He is married to an educator and has two sons. Steve has worked for the Pinal County Adult Probation Department as a Probation Officer since 2018. Prior to that, he worked for the Coolidge Unified School District in a variety of roles to include Substitute Teacher and Paraprofessional. Steve currently serves on the City of Casa Grande's Board of Adjustment and has previously served as a member of the University of Arizona Agricultural Extension Board in Pinal County.

Kelly Herrington
Term Ends 12/31/24 
 
Kelly Herrington has lived in Arizona for over 20 years and in the Casa Grande area for the past nine (9) years. She earned a Marketing degree at the University of Arizona. She has two (2) children who are in the Casa Grande school districts. Their educational welfare, as well as all the other children in the area, is of utmost importance to her. Kelly is very involved in our community and wants its continued growth and success. She is a local realtor and sales manager for her brokerage in Casa Grande. She also sits on the Executive Board for WeSERV (West and Southeast Valley) Association of Realtors and was the Pinal Chapter Chairperson for 2020. Charity and giving back to our community are also very important to her. Kelly has been the Co-Chair for the Realtor Memorial Run for the past five (5) years benefiting the Casa Grande Alliance Cancer Support Center and is also a member of the Rotary Club of Casa Grande. Kelly loves her community and the opportunity to serve for its continued growth and success.

Steven Hunt
Term Ends 12/31/26 
Steven Hunt has lived in Arizona for four years. He sees school safety and improving the school curriculum as major issues.

Richard Wilkie
Term Ends 12/31/24 
Richard Wilkie has lived in the community for almost 15 years and currently serves as the Economic Development Director for the City of Casa Grande. Currently a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserve for almost 20 years, he served two tours in Afghanistan. He is married and has three children, one of whom attends Casa Grande Union High School and another at Cactus Middle School.

Meetings

Regular Governing Board Meetings are typically held the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. (unless there is a conflict and approved by the Governing Board) at the District Office in the CGUHSD Board Room (1st Floor) and LIVE via our YouTube Channel
