A-F School Letter Grades

Arizona Revised Statutes § 15-241 requires the Arizona Department of Education, subject to final adoption by the State Board of Education, to develop an annual achievement profile for every public school in the state based on an A through F scale. The system measures year-to-year student academic growth, proficiency on English Language Arts, Math, and Science, the proficiency and academic growth of English Language Learners, indicators that an elementary student is ready for success in high school and that high school students are ready to succeed in a career or higher education and high school graduation rates.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Casa Grande Union High School Earns “B” Letter Grade from the State Board of Education

Casa Grande, AZ – [January 27, 2025] – Casa Grande Union High School (CGUHS) is proud to announce that the State Board of Education has awarded the school a "B" letter grade after reviewing its appeal. This recognition highlights the dedication and commitment of our staff, students, and families to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
The State Board of Education assigns A-F letter grades annually to measure school performance using a variety of data points. These include:

State assessment results measuring student performance and growth,
English learners' proficiency and growth toward proficiency in English,
Attendance rates,
Special education metrics,
Graduation rates and progress towards graduation, and
Graduating seniors’ completion of activities that prepare them for college and career.

These metrics provide a comprehensive evaluation of how well schools are supporting students in their academic journeys and readiness for future success. At CGUHS, we are proud of the progress we’ve made to ensure our students are not only meeting but exceeding these benchmarks.

Casa Grande Union High School remains focused on preparing students for the next steps in their lives, whether that be further education, entering the workforce, or pursuing other opportunities. The school will continue to build upon this achievement and strive for even greater success in the years ahead.

We extend our gratitude to our staff, students, parents, and community partners for their contributions to this significant achievement. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our students.

[10/28/24] Casa Grande Union High School has recently achieved a notable advancement, increasing its score from 60.64 to 64.64 points, which earns it a "C" grade. This impressive four-point improvement brings the school tantalizingly close to reaching a "B" grade, falling just 0.36 points shy of the 65-point threshold.
