(VGHS) Cooper Pitman was recognized Monday, May 6, as the Career & Technical Education Student of the month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Cooper was nominated by his CTE JROTC Marine Corps Teacher 1st Sergeant Alberto Griego: "As a first-year student, Cooper has been instrumental in the success of the JROTC program. He helped the Academic Bowl Team advance to the second round of the Marine Corps Academic Bowl Championship. An active member of the JROTC Rifle & Drill Team, he is always looking for ways to help the program advance. His dedications do not stop there as he has contributed numerous hours of his time supporting the various community service projects. In his spare time, he has managed to excel in the Boys Scouts, currently working on his Eagle Scout project. You can always find him mentoring other first-year students no matter how busy his schedule may seem. He continues to help when and where needed bringing great credit upon himself and the JROTC Marine Corps program at Vista Grande High School.” Cooper’s parents are Mr. Adam & Mrs. Deanna Pitman of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,500 students are enrolled in 13 different Career & Technical Education Programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District.
