(CGUHS) Alexa Castro was recognized Monday, May 6, as the Career & Technical Education Student of the month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Alexa was nominated by her CTE JROTC Marine Corps Teacher GySgt Jesus Flores: “Cadet Castro has been in the program for the past three years. During that time, she has shown initiative, leadership, and dedication to the JROTC Marine Corps program and her Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Administration billet that she holds. Alexa has many hours of community service which show the unselfishness of her character. She never gives up and always strives for more.” Alexa’s parents are Mr. Santiago Castro and Mrs. Sandy Castro of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,513 students are enrolled in 13 different Career & Technical Education Programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District.
