(CGUHS) Amya Ortega was recognized Monday, April 12, as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Amya was nominated by her CTE JROTC Marine Corps teacher, MGySgt Davis Casa Grande Union High School.
“Amya Ortega is a dedicated and disciplined student who exemplifies leadership and perseverance. As a JROTC Marine Corps cadet, Amya consistently demonstrates integrity, responsibility, and a strong commitment to excellence. Her dedication extends beyond the program, as she actively pursues personal growth through her involvement in guitar, Muay Thai, and kickboxing. These activities showcase her discipline, creativity, and determination, qualities that set her apart as a well-rounded individual. Amya's ability to balance rigorous physical training with academic and extracurricular pursuits speaks volumes about her time management and work ethic. She is a natural leader who leads by example, inspiring those around her with her resilience and dedication. I have no doubt that Amya will excel in any endeavor she chooses, and that is why I am nominating her for CTE JROTC Marine Corps Student of the Month.”
Amya’s parent is Ms. Irena R. Ortega of Casa Grande, Arizona.
Over 1,624 students are enrolled in 13 different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor.
