The Heard Museum is thrilled to invite American Indian students in grades 7-12 to participate in the 2025 Youth Art Show & Sale, part of the Indian Fair & Market. This is a fantastic opportunity for young artists to have original artwork judged by a professional panel, compete for ribbons, and earn over $10,000 in cash awards. Best of all, work will be displayed and available for sale to the public! If you are interested, please reach out to Mr. Hardy in L145.

TUTORING

Tutoring will resume this Thursday, January 23, from 3:30 until 4:30 in L52. If you need support in English, Math, or Science, please come to after school tutoring.  

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Are you a senior planning on attending college or career school and need a scholarship or grant to pay for it? You have to fill out the FAFSA form right away! FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is required for you to qualify for free money for college. Go to studentaid.gov and have your Federal ID information ready to login. 

If you are interested in going to college in New Mexico there will be a representative from NMSU here in the counseling office on Thursday, January 23 during lunch. 

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

NHS: please pay your dues and Valentine Cards for Seniors are due Feb. 11th 

DECA 
The DECA Store is open during both lunches on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  New products are being offered this week only, please come by for lunch.  

KEY CLUB 
Be a true Valentine and give the gift of love by donating blood. Students age 16 and older can donate blood and receive $20.00 cash in your pocket as well as save someone’s life.  Come to E103 to pick up your parent permission form. 

Renaissance Club 
Renaissance Ambassadors – our meetings will be moved to Mondays for semester 2, still during 2.5 in the Library. 

SENIOR STUDENT COUNCIL will meet Thursday January 30th after school in the library. All seniors are welcome, we will be talking about senior sunset, senior shirts, and graduation.  

FRESHMAN STUDENT COUNCIL MEETINGS every Tuesday morning at 7:45in A195. All are welcome. Please join us to plan and to help with future fundraising events. 

SOPHOMORE STUDENT COUNCIL will have a meeting on January 28th at 7:45am in F209. All sophomores are welcome and hope to see you there!

JUNIOR STUDENT COUNCIL will meet next Thursday January 30th after school in H109. All Juniors are welcome as we talk about hosting PROM.  

ATHLETICS

Boys Basketball (1/21-1/24): Practice this week will be Wednesday and Friday from 6-8pm.  

Softball: Open field will be on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 4:00 at the varsity softball field. Stop by to see Coach Gil in F108 if you have any questions.  

Track: Open field preseason practices now until February 7. Join us on the track from 3:30-5pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We will work out in the Weight Room on Wednesdays 1:15-3pm. Track season begins February 10 and ends the first week of May. See Coach Kieser or Coach White in the P.E. Hallway if you have any questions and/or want to sign up.
