Blood drive is in 48 hours! 

Are you a Sucker for Love? Stop by the Renaissance booth during lunch to get your Valentines Day grams. We will be selling suckers, eye colored bracelets, and ribbon roses. OPEN YOUR HEART AND WALLET for your Valentine. 

Friday, Feb. 28th - BROWN BAG LUNCH and open mic, please sign up in the Library

PROM tickets will go on sale February 24th. Tickets will be sold to Juniors and Seniors only. Tickets will be $75 each. One ticket per student. Prom will be Saturday April 12th at Robson Ranch. Any questions please see Mrs. Maestas in H109.

ASU Joaquin Bustoz Summer Math and Science Honors Program : 
The ASU Joaquin Bustoz Summer Math and Science Honors Program Application Deadline is fast approaching. If you are interested in applying to the program, the deadline to submit your application is Sunday February 16, and the deadline for your Math or Science Teacher’s letter of recommendation for this program is Tuesday February 18. Please see Mr. Razo for more information. 

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Listen Up 10th Graders! Course Request Time is happening next week in your English class. It is very important that you be in school this week to choose your courses for 11th grade. YOU MUST BRING YOUR COMPUTER AND IT MUST BE FULLY CHARGED!
 
Seniors! Northern Arizona University will be on campus on TODAY during A and B lunches. Come learn about attending NAU as one of your college options. Having at least 3 college choices in your post high school plan is critical. Come see if NAU meets your career needs! Ms. Jennifer will be located in the counseling department for you!  

Scholarship opportunities for Seniors:  
Have you applied for any scholarships yet? There are many local scholarship applications available in the counseling office. Please come by and pick them up. Currently, we have Zonta, Cesar Chavez, Pinal 40, San Tan Valley Republican Women and the Worth & Dot Howard scholarship, which are all due in the next several weeks.  

Remember Freshman Algebra I credit recovery class will continue until May. The days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at 3:30 until 4:30. Please arrive on time. 

YEARBOOK

The last date to purchase a senior ad in the yearbook has been extended to February 13th. If you haven’t bought one and you still want to, make sure to order yours before it's too late!  

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

GIRLS WHO CODE  
We're on a mission to close the gender gap in technology. Girls Who Code is changing the game. Girls Who Code @ CGUHS meets after school on Wednesdays in room L100.  Contact Grace Wynia or Peyton Posey for details.

FRESHMAN STUDENT COUNCIL MEETINGS every Tuesday morning at 7:45in A195. All are welcome. Please join us to plan and to help with future fundraising events. 

Drama Club: Come and join us! We are getting ready for the Spring Musical and would love to have you Dancing and Singing in Wonderland. There is a Chorus and a lot of fun characters to play. Meetings are in the Blackbox A156, usually on Tuesday or Thursday at 3:30. Please see Mr. Kepler for more information. 

NHS: 
Please pay your dues! And pick up your T-shirts 
Valentine Cards for Senior citizens are due. We are trying to get about 100 and only have 55, so we need more made! So, I have extended the deadline to today, Thursday Feb. 13th 

ATHLETICS

Boys Tennis Practice is Monday-Friday 3:30-5:30.  To be eligible to play this year, all interested players must complete their Aktivate registration, get a physical and pay their Pay to Play fee. For more information, please see Mrs. Wagner in the Athletics Department. 

(2/13) Softball: Today is the last day of softball tryouts at 4 o’clock. Come out if you’re interested. Tryouts for soccer and basketball players who want to play softball will be held after your season is over. Good luck tonight ladies! 

Track: Practices are Monday-Friday at 3:30pm on the Track. Wednesdays we do weight training from 1:15-3pm. Please see Coach Kieser or Coach White in the P.E. Hallway if you have any questions and/or want to sign up.   

(2/10-2/14) Boys Basketball: Wednesday from 6-8pm. This week's game will be Thursday February 13th at Vista Grande High School. Go Cougars! 

Soccer- JV Girls and JV Boys 
Please turn in all uniforms and backpacks back to the equipment room. Charges will be placed by Friday (5/14/25) for any missing equipment. You will not be able to check-out uniforms for upcoming sports if you have a hold on your account.  

Boys Basketball: Will play at Vista Grande High School tonight at 7pm. Students please come and support.
