(CGUHSD) CGUHSD/Durham School Services bus driver, Arthur Hicks, was not only selected for Employee of the Month, but also for the Congressman Juan Ciscomani American Dream Inspirational Educator Award.
His supervisor, Dianna Ritchie, had this to say,
"Arthur Hicks is not just a professional school bus driver; he is a beacon of safety, community engagement, and dedication. His exemplary safety record speaks volumes, illustrating a commitment not just to the rules of the road, but also to the well-being of the students he transports every day.
Since joining Durham School Services in 2016, Arthur has become an integral part of the Casa Grande Union High School District community. With decades of experience behind the wheel, he adeptly handles the dynamic nature of being a cover driver. Whether stepping in for a sick colleague, navigating the complexities of a field trip, or managing the anticipated rush of morning and afternoon routes, Arthur’s versatility and reliability shine through.
Beyond his impressive ability to jump into any situation with confidence, his command over each route fosters a sense of familiarity and comfort among students. Arthur not only navigates the streets but also paves the way for new drivers, sharing his extensive knowledge and offering a supportive hand as they adapt to their roles. To the passionate educator in Arthur, no detail is too small. He ensures each driver is connected to the community they serve, making safety and professionalism a top priority in every journey.
This award is a testament to everything he has accomplished and represents just a chapter in his ongoing story of commitment to safety — a narrative that inspires those around him. Arthur Hicks is more than just a name on the safety record; he is a pivotal part of a community that entrusts him with the most precious cargo: their children."
