(VGHS) Alexander Binder was recognized Monday, September 9, as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Alexander was nominated by his CTE Construction Technologies Teacher Mr. Jeff StClair. “Alexander is an outstanding student. He is this year’s SkillsUSA Construction Technologies Club President. Alexander is committed to improving his skills and leadership ability. As such, he takes initiative and leads by example. He is always ready and willing to help. Alexander is self-directed, able to work without supervision. He is determined to solve problems and stays on task until he has a workable solution. Alexander volunteers to help other students who are struggling and offers positive encouragement. He participates in the total school program through athletics, clubs, and class participation. Alexander does the shot put on the Track & Field team and is a member of the Wrestling team. He is involved with Thespians, Anime, and DND Club. This year, Alexander is Player 3 in this year’s play. He will be competing for his second year in the Arizona Masonry Skills Challenge and Region 3 SkillsUSA competition.” Alexander’s parents are Mr. Thomas Binder and Ms. Teresa Ottesen of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,624 students are enrolled in 13 different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District.
