(CGUHS) January Rotary Student of the Month: Asante Santilli
Parents: Both my mother and father are teachers and have been their whole lives. My father, Michael Santilli, has taught many places, his last being a math professor at MCC. My mother, Tamara Santilli, is a well-known teacher in Casa Grande. Having taught at Cactus, Picacho, McCartney, Villago, and now Union, my mother has contributed to the education of Casa Grandes youth for about 30 years. Both of my parents have been huge role models in my life and have raised me to always do the best I can.
Post Graduation Plans: I plan on going into Business, particularly Real Estate, and potentially mastering in Business Law. I'm not sure what college I am going to attend and it really depends on the scholarships I have. I plan on getting an academic scholarship as I have a 4.6 GPA and have good scores on my SAT and ACT as well as participate in many clubs.
9th Grade involvement: JV/Varsity Soccer, Varsity Track, all honors classes
10th Grade involvement: Varsity Soccer, all AP/Honors classes
11th Grade involvement: Varsity Soccer, Varsity Football, all AP/Honors classes, Link Crew, Key Club, National Honor Society, Central Arizona College (CAC) concurrent enrollment
12th Grade involvement: Varsity Football, Varsity Soccer, Varsity Track, all AP classes, Central Arizona College (CAC) dual enrollment and concurrent enrollment, Key Club, National Honor Society
Teacher Comments (Mr. Craig): Asanti is a dedicated and hard-working student. His performance in AP Government was outstanding and I believe that Asanti is going to be very successful in whatever he does after high school. I always appreciated his carefully done classwork and homework. His attention to detail is something that is not as common as I wish it was. For example, his handwriting is neat, clear, and cursive. He is a thoughtful young man and it has been a pleasure to work with him this year.
