(CGUHSD) There was community collaboration for student success on Tuesday, September 24. Community members, educators, business partners, and city personnel gathered for the kickoff meeting of the Post-Secondary Education, Training, & Career Readiness Task Force. Led by CGUHSD Superintendent Jeff Lavender and district administrators Monica Diaz and Natalie Clement, they discussed our mission to increase the number of students pursuing postsecondary education, trade schools, and careers with livable wages and growth opportunities. Some exciting ideas on the table include job tours, internships, job shadowing, and apprenticeships, all designed to help students make meaningful connections and learn more about workplace norms. Together, with our community partners, we’re defining what it means to be college and career-ready and building a plan to ensure every student has a bright future. To learn more, visit
