(CGUHS) Sarah Olsen was recognized Monday, March 3, as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Sarah was nominated by her CTE Bioscience Teacher Mr. Donald Thompson.

“The reason for this nomination is that Sarah has been an outstanding student at Casa Grande Union High School for the past four years and also been an active member of the CTE Bioscience and Arizona HOSA organization for the past three years. She currently serves as the HOSA State Executive Vice President for the secondary division. Sarah has demonstrated an array of academic, interpersonal, and leadership skills, while maintaining integrity and dignity in her accomplishments. She possesses great potential and should have a bright future in the health profession. Sarah is a highly involved and motivated student who focusses on objectives that will lead her to achieve her career goals. Her CTE experience throughout high school has aided in her development of communication skills and has helped to develop a deep passion for science. Sarah plans to attend Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, to pursue a career in healthcare.”

Sarah’s parents are Mr. Jim Olsen & Mrs. Melanie Olsen of Casa Grande, Arizona.

Over 1,624 students are enrolled in 13 different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor.
