All-State Guitar Festival

(CGUHS) During the weekend of February 1, Arizona hosted its first-ever All-State Guitar Festival, and Casa Grande Union was proudly represented. Two of our talented Cougars, Maylia Leal (SR) and Amya Ortega (JR), were among the top 40 high school guitarists selected for this prestigious ensemble. Students had the incredible opportunity to work with Arizona State University's (ASU’s) highly acclaimed guitar professor, Dr. Martha Masters, as well as renowned guitar orchestra director, Mr. Chuck Hulihan. After two days of intense rehearsals, their hard work culminated in an amazing concert on Saturday evening at the Arizona Music Educators Conference.
